(Des Moines) The regular price of gasoline across Iowa rose $.06, averaging $2.23. The national average on Wednesday was $2.39, $04 higher than last week’s price, according to AAA.
The price of global crude oil rose this week on the West Texas Intermediate (WTI) by $.24 per barrel over last week, currently priced at $53.42.Brent crude oil rose $.12 and currently priced at $56.44. One year ago, WTI crude sold for $58.34 and Brent crude was at $64.63.
Wholesale ethanol rose $.11, currently at $1.63. The current Des Moines Terminal/Rack Prices are $1.50 for U87-E10, $1.63 for Unleaded 87 (clear), ULSD#2 is at $1.67, ULSD#1 is at $1.78, and E-70 priced at $1.61 per gallon.
Retail diesel prices in Iowa rose $.01 this week with a statewide average of $2.50. One year ago, diesel prices averaged $2.85 in Iowa. The current Iowa diesel price is $.13 less than the national average of $2.63.
Propane prices were up $.21 with a statewide average of $1.50 per gallon. Home heating oil rose $.04 from last week, ending with a statewide average of $2.13 per gallon. Natural Gas prices fell $.33 at the Henry Hub reporting site and currently priced at $2.47/MMbtu.
