(Des Moines) Roadways in Southwest Iowa are completely covered with snow this morning. High winds are causing blowing and drifting. The National Weather Service reported 47 miles per hour wind gusts in Omaha, 44 mph wind gusts in Missouri Valley, 43 mph wind gusts in Council Bluffs, and 42 mph wind gusts in Sidney in Fremont County. Blizzard to near blizzard conditions continues to impact the region this morning. In the Atlantic area, winds are out of the northwest at 27 miles per hour.
