(Audubon) The Audubon City Council will discuss a change in the parking restrictions around the square on Monday evening.
Mayor Barb Jacobsen previously stated with the construction of new apartments, it may be time to re-evaluate the parking situation. “Currently people can park overnight on Broadway, and we have a request to change that,” said Jacobsen. “The council tabled the issue at their last meeting but will reconsider the issue because there’s a developer putting apartments above one of the downtown buildings. The access would be on the square so I think they’ll reconsider the current ordinance.”
In other business, the council will act on granting authority to designate some historical property and act on the third reading of changing utility rates and billing structure.
The agenda also includes; a public hearing for the max tax levy, mowing contract, and Cemetery Sexton contract. Additionally, the council will consider information requests, and resolution 21-5, a volunteer firefighter.
The meeting starts at 5:30 p.m. at the City Hall.
