(Guthrie Center) ACGC allowed only four field goals on the night in a 60-21 girls basketball win over Woodward-Granger.
The Chargers defended their home floor and improved to 6-3 in West Central Activities Conference play. Mersadez Richter sparked the offense off the bench with eight first quarter points on her way to 17 for the night. She was joined in double figures by EmmaKay McClain who scored all ten of her points in the second half.
ACGC led 14-7 after one quarter and extended the lead to 13 by halftime. A Saige O’Brien triple in the waning seconds of the first half made it a 22-9 game. The Chargers found their stride offensively after the break with Kylie Young, Alaina Bunde, and Sophie Dorsey combining for 17 second half points. In all, nine different players scored for the victors.
They held Woodward-Granger’s top two scorers each below their average as Darby Nixon and Gracelyn Deputy notched six points apiece.
A big test lies ahead for ACGC with Class 1A top ten ranked Exira-EHK coming to Guthrie Center on Saturday.
