(Atlantic) When it comes to New Year’s Resolutions, exercise and weight loss are ranked in the top five. Unfortunately, COVID-19 caused some people to shy away from gyms and fitness centers.
Dan Haynes, Executive Director of the Nishna Valley Family YMCA, says they have taken all of the various agencies’ public health measures and transformed the building. For example, some of the exercise equipment has been moved from the fitness floor to one gymnasium.
Haynes says temperatures are taken at the front door, hand sanitizer is located throughout the building, and people are asked to wipe off the equipment before and after using it.
He says fitness classes are up and running. Attendees are spaced six feet apart, and electronic check-in is also available.
Haynes understands people are still concerned about coming back in. He says the best time to work out is between 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m.
The Nishna Valley Family YMCA is promoting a re-start program. More information will be released tomorrow.
