(Atlantic) The Atlantic Police Department is reminding citizens to not give personal information over the phone.
The Police Department received a complaint from a citizen saying someone claiming to be from the Atlantic Medical Center called them requesting information for an application that had been submitted to them. The citizen did not fill out any application. The caller had asked for their phone and internet service. The caller did have the victim’s doctor’s information and the number did come back to the Atlantic Medical Center. The victim called the Atlantic Medical Center and they stated that they did not call.
The Atlantic Police Department says this is a possible scam; be careful and do not give personal information over the phone.
