(Carroll) Four people were injured in a head-on collision in Carroll County.
The Iowa State Patrol says the accident happened at around 12:39 p.m. on Saturday at 170th Street, west of Falcon Avenue. The four people injured in the crash are identified as; 26-year old Tyler Mattingly, of Fort Dodge, 22-year old Aubri Roper, of Paton, Iowa, 25-year old Jacob Lawler, of Wall Lake, and 21-year old Jordan Downs, of Denver, Colorado.
According to the report, Mattingly was driving a 2008 Dodge passenger car westbound on 170th Street, crested a hill, drifted left of the center lane, and collided head-on with an eastbound 2015 Chevy truck driven by Brandon Kramer of Lanesboro, Iowa. The impact caused the truck to roll before coming to rest on its wheels in the south ditch. The passenger car ended up in the north ditch.
Unity Helicopter transported Mattingly. Lawler and Downs to Methodist Hospital. Medic 5 transported Roper to St. Anthony’s Hospital in Carroll.
The Iowa State Patrol says distracted driving may have played a factor in the crash that remains under investigation.
