(Council Bluffs) A Pottawattamie County Woman was arrested after attempting to shoplift over $2000 worth of items. According to the Pottawattamie County Sheriff’s Office and the Council Bluffs Police Department, 42-year-old Jenny Marie Hardy reportedly walked out of the Buckle Clothing Store with over $2000 in merchandise without payment on December 24th around 4:39 p.m. At this time, a deputy was near the location of the theft and began to locate the suspect when Hardy started to elude him on foot throughout the parking lot. After a quick foot chase had endured, the woman was appended with a brief struggle. She was arrested on charges of Interference with official acts causing bodily injury. Hardy was also checked out by Council Bluffs Fire for minor scraps, in result of the struggle.

The Pottawattamie County Sheriff’s Office arrested a 59-year-old man on assault charges. A deputy was dispatched to 1188 Jennings Avenue in Council Bluffs around 7:37 p.m. on December 28th. Darby Leroy Durham of Council Bluffs was charged with Domestic Abuse/Simple Assault and Child Endangerment with substantial risk, after a 17-year-old female witness claims Durham assaulted a 60-year-old woman. Durham’s bond is set at $2,000.
On December 24th around 9:46 p.m., deputies were dispatched to 122 Glass Street in Oakland for an assault report. 24-year-old Daniel Scott Rouch Jr. was charged with Child Endangerment with Substantial Risk/Bodily Injury and assault causing bodily injury or mental illness/no intent.
49-year-old Ronald Lyn Burns of Lincoln, Nebraska was also arrested on Thursday night. Following a welfare check, Burns was charged with Operating a Motor Vehicle without the Owner’s Consent. His bond is currently set at $2000.
A 26-year-old male was arrested following a traffic stop in Council Bluffs. On December 25th at 10:03 p.m., Alberto Eduardo Elquezabal was charged with Driving while suspended or revoked and was released at the scene with a citation.
A 13-year-old male was arrested in the area of Sumac Road and Old Lincoln Highway near Honey Creek following a vehicle accident. The juvenile was charged with Operating a Motor Vehicle without owner’s consent.
On December 27th, around 10:30 p.m., 56-year-old Ronald Everett Knapp was arrested on a warrant for Violation of Parole. On December 28th, an unidentified 14-year-old female was arrested in Avoca and charged with Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Possession of a Controlled Substance 1st offense.
