(Red Oak) Charla Schmid District One Supervisor and Jon Spunaugle, newly elected Montgomery County Sheriff, was sworn into office at Tuesday’s Board of Supervisors meeting.
Schmid takes the seat following the passing of Rudy Kinard. Her term runs until 2022.
In October, Schmid was appointed to the seat following interviews with three other candidates, including; Steven Berendes, Steven Masters, and Troy Preston. The Public then petitioned for a special election, and Schmid defeated Berendes 88-57.
Newly elected Sheriff Jon Spunaugle was also sworn into office. Sheriff Joe Sampson is retiring effective December 31.
