(Griswold) Griswold Schools shared Superintendent Dave Henrichs sent a letter to the district’s parents and guardians on Tuesday, explaining the possibility of returning to all on-site learning as early as February 1st for non-medical students.
Henrichs said at the start of the school year, and all districts had to allow students to choose remote or on-site learning if a medical condition warranted them to remain at home. Besides that, districts could also allow every student to be remote learning, and the Griswold School District allowed students to choose that option.
Henrichs says they will continue to monitor the situation. If the positive cases continue to point to a downward trend, there is a chance at the January board meeting; the board will require all students to return to onsite learning around February 1st, unless they have a medical exemption.
Since the start of the school year, three elementary students, nine middle school/high school students, and ten staff members tested positive for COVID-19. all of those individuals have recovered except for one middle school/high school student and one staff member.
