(Audubon) The Audubon School Board did not take action on awarding building project or asbestos abatement bids at their meeting Monday evening.
Superintendent Eric Trager said the bids for their renovation project came in higher than they would have liked and so they are kind of in a holding pattern to try to figure out what their next steps will be.
“We promised our tax payers when we passed the bond that that was all we were going to ask them for and so we need to figure out where we can find some efficiency in the project and get the cost back down to something that’s affordable for our district and still allows us to do the project in the way that we want to get it done and we’re also looking into financing options,” explained Trager.
Voters passed the $7.5 million bond issue in March to fund the model, repair and improvement of the middle school and high school buildings.
In other news, the School Board approved a contract with Brittney Williams to be the Junior High Girls Basketball Coach.
