(Macedonia) In Macedonia, Grist Mills Fine Arts was days away from presenting the production “Murder by the Book” when COVID-19 struck and shut everything down. The production company put it off for several months but was never able to get it going.
Sue Duhachek, Director, and Producer wanted to give something back to the community to make up for this past year.
Duhachek went to work, found several plays, and approached Frank Rizzo, Program Director at KSOM Radio. He and General Manager Bill Saluk agreed to air the play on KSOM, Wednesday, December 23; at 6:00 p.m. Duhachek checked with Play Scripts and received radio rights for the play “It’s a Wonderful Life, which is about a divine intervention by a guardian angel, to help a man in distress.
The cast members include; Gene Sanny and Sue Duhachek, both from Oakland, James Straight, and Emma Lee, both from Griswold, Deanna Fender of Macedonia, Sara Mathews, from Treynor, and Bret Baker, of Omaha. Mathews is also the Assistant Director of the play. Frank Rizzo is in charge of recording and sound effects.
Again, the play airs on Wednesday evening, at 6:00 p.m., on KSOM.
