Duane Alton Bandy, 86, son of William R. & Esther M. (Johnson) Bandy, was born June 14, 1934 in Linden, Iowa. He passed from this life on Thursday, December 17, 2020 at the Taylor House Hospice in Des Moines, Iowa.
Duane married Audrey Mae Recher, from Yale, Iowa, on November 1, 1951. To this union four children were born. Duane served in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War. He worked for Betts Cadillac Inc. in Des Moines and retired from there with 43 years of service. In 1998, Duane started working at Beidelman Funeral Home, which later became Twigg Funeral Home, helping out at visitations and funerals until around 2016-2017.
Duane is survived by his children, Charles (DeAnn) Bandy of Adel; Steven (Glenda) Bandy of Adel; Sue Bandy of Johnston; and Sandy Goltz of Neenah, WI; six grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, 5 great-great- grandchildren; and special friend, Darlene Schnobrich of Guthrie Center. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife Audrey in 1994.
He was a member of the Panora Lions Club, where he served as Treasurer for many years.
His wishes were to be cremated and Memorial services will be held at a later date.
