(Underwood) Logan-Magnolia had eight finalists and won the Western Iowa Conference Wrestling Tournament held Saturday in Underwood. Missouri Valley was seven points back to take home the runner-up trophy.
Hagen Heistand (132), Wyatt Reisz (145), Briar Reisz (152), Gavin Maguire (160), and Rex Johnsen (285) won titles for the Panthers. The Big Reds had champs Eli Becerra (106), Fred Veatch (138), and Gage Clausen (170).
Underwood was third with individual winners at 126 and 220 in the form of Stevie Barnes and Chris Gardner.
Treynor and Riverside also claimed top five team finishes with AHSTW, Tri-Center, and Audubon rounding out the field.
Riverside scored 135 points to place 5th. Jace Rose pinned his way through the 120 pound bracket. Rose was the team’s lone individual champ. Runner-up finishes came from Ethan Reicks (170) and Eddie Vlcek (220). John Schroder (126) earned a 3rd place finish. Dalton Smith (106), Rhett Bentley (160), Kaiden Hendricks (182), and Brok Comstock (195) all placed 4th. Nathan Messerschmidt (285) was 5th. Kaeden Pleas (138) placed 6th.
AHSTW took 6th in the team count with 121 points. Eli Collins earned the 113 pound title. Garrison Gettler was the 160 pound runner-up. Denver Pauley (170) took 3rd. 4th place showings came from David Johnson (120), Hayden Fischer (132), Aidan Martin (152), and Quintin Martin (220). Clayton Johnson was 5th at 106 and Dayden Moerti 5th at 138. Isaac Stamp (145), Nate Jorgensen (195), and Jaicob Madsen (285) all placed 6th.
Audubon’s highlights included Javyn Bladt (2nd at 182), Cooper Nielsen (2nd at 195), Zeke Konkler (5th at 120), Manny Beisswenger (6th at 126).
