(Atlantic) Atlantic High School Athletic Director Andy Mitchell released the new guidance and clarifications from the IHSAA/IGHSAU based on the Governor’s updated proclamation from Wednesday.
Mitchell says Atlantic will be using the two spectator system but will now allow siblings in as well. This does include split households. For example, mom, dad, step-parents, and all siblings would be able to get in. Households also MUST sit together in the stands.
“Unfortunately, clarification has said that only those living in the household may attend. This means grandparents/aunts/uncles and adult siblings who do not reside in the same household would not be included in the same household exemption,” said Mitchell. “We will check off rosters at the ticket table. Please have patience with us as we continue to navigate through the ever-changing guidelines and guidance we receive.
“Other school districts may have stricter guidelines at their own facilities. We will get that information out there as it is made available to us,” stated Mitchell.” If you have any questions, please let me know, and I will answer them to the best of my ability.”
The new guidelines went into effect for the Middle School basketball game.
