Judy Annette Ritchie, 73, daughter of Vaughn & Marietta (Freeman) Dietze, was born July 31, 1947 in Sigourney, Iowa. She passed away Tuesday, December 15, 2020 at her home in Guthrie Center, Iowa.
Judy grew up in Millersburg, Iowa and graduated high school in 1965. In 1966, she met the love of her life and her best friend, Terry. They were united in marriage on May 21, 1966. To this union 3 children were born Todd, Jason, and Janelle. In 1978, Judy went back to school and graduated with a diploma as a LPN. In 1994, she obtained her degree as a RN. Judy was proud to be the first in her family to graduate from college. Judy was in the medical field 42 before retiring due to health problems. She loved being a nurse and caring for her patients. Terry and Judy traveled to many parts of the country during her years as a Travel Nurse. They spent many winters in Arizona. She especially enjoyed the idea that travel nursing allowed her to enjoy the Arizona warmth in the winter.
Judy was a 50+ member of the Eastern Star.
Judy leaves behind her husband Terry; children, Todd (Angie), Jason (Lauri), and Janelle (John). Eight grandchildren, Macey (Ethan), Jordan (Chelsea), Taylor (Scot), Stacy, Garett (Skye), Spencer, Kelsey, and Jack. Great-grandson, Hudson; mother-in-law, Jaxine; brothers, Vaughn, Gordon (Trudy), and Mick. Sister, Holly (Gerald); and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and father-in-law.
Private family services will be Monday, December 21, 2020 at the First United Methodist Church, Guthrie Center, Iowa. Burial of her cremains will be in Union Cemetery, Guthrie Center.
Memorials may be left to Relay for Life. The Twigg Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
