(Audubon) The Audubon City Council has tabled action on parking restrictions around the square.
Mayor Barb Jacobsen admits with new apartments on the way, it may be time to re-evaluate the parking situation. “Currently they can park overnight on Broadway, but not overnight on the square and we have a request to do that. The council tabled that, but wants to reconsider it because we have a developer putting apartments above one of the buildings downtown. That access would be on the square so I think they’ll reconsider that and discuss it at another date.”
Elsewhere, a couple of residences on the south end of Audubon that are connected to well water will be allowed to hookup to city water at the expense of the residents.
Jacobsen adds the second of three readings has been passed in regards to the utility rates and billing structure. Assuming the third reading gets passed next month, a monthly billing format would go into effect.
Tyler Thygesen has been approved as the Fire Chief.
The Wastewater project has been expanded to utilize the full funding available from grants. They have over $100,000 left to use.
