(Red Oak) Charla Schmid defeated Steven Berendes, 88-57, for (60.69%) of the votes in a special election to fill the vacancy in Supervisor District #1 in Montgomery County.
In late October, the supervisors appointed Schmid following interviews with four candidates, including Steven Berendes, Steven Masters, Troy Preston, and Schmid.
The public then petitioned for a special election.
The Supervisor District #1 seat became open following the death of Rudy Kinard.
