(Oakland) Kenna Ford scored 14 points and Emily Brown had 12 as the Riverside girls downed Heartland Christian 55-16 in Oakland Thursday night. The Lady Dawgs scored the first 12 points of the game and led by double figures the rest of the night.
Turnovers were an issue for Heartland Christian as Macy Woods racked up 10 steals and Ford finished with 7 takeaways. The Lady Dawgs had 27 steals on the night and didn’t give up points for the first 5:57 of the game. They held the Eagles to just two points in the first quarter and three points in the third quarter.
Outside of the 26 points that Ford and Brown combined for, Macy Woods had 8, Franee Maher 7, Becca Cody 6, Chiara Rains 4, Madi Baldwin 2, and Mack Olmstead-Mitchell 2. Riverside shot 31% (25/80) from the field. They go to 1-4 on the season.
Heartland Christian got a team high six points from Madelyn Jundt. They fall to 1-5.
