(Greenfield) The Nodaway Valley School Board will hold a public hearing at 5:00 p.m. this evening to discuss the proposed tuition in sharing agreement with Orient-Macksburg.
Schools Superintendent Paul Croghan says under the proposal, the Nodaway Valley School District would provide upper-level classes for the Orient-Macksburg school district students to tuition out to Nodaway Valley.
Croghan says the two districts are also having conversations about sharing K-12 football, wrestling, bowling, and other activities beneficial for the Orient-Macksburg students.
The Orient-Macksburg outgoing Superintendent approached Nodaway Valley School Officials this past spring about the possibility of sharing. Both boards met this past October and agreed to design a plan.
The Orient-Macksburg School Board will hold a similar public hearing on December 14. Both School Boards will consider signing the tuition in agreement on January 14, 2021.
The paperwork would be due to the Iowa Department of Education on February 1, 2021.
