(Area) The U.S. Postal Service is expecting significant volume increases as most families and friends will hold virtual celebrations this holiday season instead of opening gifts in person.
As always, the Postal Service encourages customers to send their holiday gifts and cards early. The Postal Service says the busiest time of the season peaks two weeks before Christmas when much of the last minute shopping starts. Customer traffic is expected to increase beginning December 7th, with the week of December 14-21 predicted to be the busiest mailing, shopping and delivery week.
The deadline for USPS Retail Ground is December 15, First-Class Mail is December 18th, Priority Mail is December 19th and Priority Mail Express is December 23rd.
