(Des Moines) Iowa District 11 Senator Tom Shipley, R-Nodaway, has been named chair of the Senate Local Government Committee for the 89th General Assembly. The Local Government Committee works on legislation about the operations and financing of counties, cities, townships, and other local government entities.
“I am honored to be chosen to serve as the chair of the Senate Local Government Committee,” said Senator Shipley. “I am thankful for this opportunity and look forward to working on legislation to improve local government in our state.”
The Iowa Legislature Convenes on January 11.
