(Shelby Co.) The Shelby County Conservation Board and Iowa DNR will be hosting another series of outdoor cooking classes.
Christina Roelofs, Naturalist, said all of the classes will focus on breakfast foods.
“We’re having three different dates: December 12th is going to be simple over the fire recipes that don’t require any special equipment; January 16th will be the pie irons or sandwich makers; February 6th is Dutch Ovens,” said Roelofs.
The classes will be done through Zoom and they begin at 9:00 a.m.
“How we’re doing these classes is we are encouraging people to cook right along with us. A few days before the actual class we will send out an ingredient list and then also the title of the recipes, so of course people can pick and choose because like when we do Dutch Oven Cooking we do five different recipes and most people don’t need five different things to eat at once, so people can decide what they want to make. We do these on Zoom so people can interact with us, they can ask questions and they can show us how their things turned out,” explained Roelofs.
Pre-registration is required. Links for registration can be found below and on the Iowa Becoming an Outdoors Woman Facebook Page or Shelby County Conservation Board Facebook Page. Everybody is welcome to attend (not just women).
