(Area) Weather conditions in December are expected to shift from neutral to La Niña.
State Climatologist Justin Glisan says this will bring warmer than normal conditions. “What we see in terms of temperature are higher probability of warmer than normal conditions for the month. On the precipitation side we are what is called EC and that’s equal chance of above, below, or near average behavior.”
Coming up very soon we’ll start to get an idea of whether or not to expect a white Christmas.
“We will have climatological chances of measurable snow fall, we always look for a white Christmas, so those numbers will come out at the beginning of December.”
The average high for this time of year is 40 degrees which is right in line with the forecasted temperatures to begin the week.
