(Greenfield) Nodaway Valley landed four players on the Iowa Print Sports Writers Association All-State Football Teams. The Wolverines have one first team selection, two on the second team, and on third teamer.
Caelen DeVault earned his way on to the Class A first team as a defensive back. The junior had 66 tackles, one fumble recovery, and one interception.
Tony Ayase’s 67.5 tackles were most on the team. He was named to the second team as a linebacker. Ayase finished the season one interception and one fumble recovery. He tallied 14.5 tackles for loss.
Another second team choice was defensive lineman Avery Phillippi. In his sophomore season he contributed 43.5 tackles, 18.5 tackles for loss, and six sacks. Phillippi recovered two fumbles.
Junior Jon Gebbie made the third team as a defensive back. His four interceptions led the team. He made 17.5 tackles.
