(Nodaway) This past week Iowa Workforce Development reported another drop in the state’s unemployment rate. Unemployment hit a high of 11-percent at the onset of COVID, dropped to 4.8 percent in September, and fell to 3.6 percent in October.
Iowa District 11 Republican Senator Tom Shipley says those kinds of numbers would be envious anywhere else.
Iowa’s unemployment rate is tied with South Dakota for the third-lowest in the nation, behind Nebraska, and Vermont.
The national unemployment rate for October was 6.9-percent.
