(Villisca) The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office arrested four people on burglary charges connected with an incident in Villisca.
According to the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, at 6:02 a.m. on Saturday, a passerby observed several individuals leaving the Jones Store and former museum in Villisca. The passerby notified law enforcement and detained one juvenile male.
The investigation led to the arrest of three male juveniles, ages 12, 13, and 16, and 18-year old Drake L. O’Briant of Villisca. All four were charged with 3rd – degree burglary, a Class D Felony.
The juveniles were released to their parents. O’Briant was held on a $5,000 bond.
Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office thanks the passerby that allowed this crime to be cleared by arrest, but advises against directly confronting individuals as it may be detrimental to one’s personal safety.
