(Harlan) The Shelby County Board of Supervisors approved a face-covering mandate on Tuesday.
The Policy reads; any person entering or present in the Shelby County Courthouse or any other administrative office including but not limited to the Engineer’s Office, the Environmental Services Office, the Sheriff’s Office, and the Conservation Office, shall wear a mask for the duration of his or her time in that building.
Additionally, while on duty an employee shall wear a mask when around other members of the general public. However, nothing in the policy requires a County employee to wear a mask while he or she is alone in his or her designated office.
The policy will remain in effect until the Board of Supervisors determines it is no longer necessary or useful.
