(Woodward) The Iowa State Patrol released additional information on the vehicle/pedestrian accident at the Woodward-Granger school parking lot that claimed the life of a seven-year child.
According to the State Patrol website; the accident happened at around 3:42 p.m. at the Woodward-Granger High School parking lot. The victim is identified as seven-year-old Charlie Brewer, of Bouton.
According to the report, Charlie Brewer traveled in front of a northbound 2019 GMC Denali driven by 47-year old Robert Nevitt of Perry. The front passenger side of the vehicle struck the child and traveled over him before coming to a full stop. Charlie was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The Dallas County Sheriff’s Office preliminary investigation suggests that there was no intention by Nevitt to strike the child. The accident remains under investigation and no charges have been filed at this time.
