(Glenwood) A Construction worker was struck by a semi in Mills County this (Tuesday) afternoon.
The Iowa State Patrol says 60-year-old William McBee, of Dunlap, Tennessee, was driving a 2014 Peterbilt 389K northbound on I-29 in a construction zone at approximately 12:34 p.m. A construction worker, identified as 70-year-old Wayne Hansen, of Schaller, Iowa, attempted to cross the single lane of travel walking west and was struck by the semi.
Hansen was transported to UNMC by Glenwood Rescue.
The Iowa State Patrol was assisted by the Mills County Sheriff’s Office and Glenwood Fire and Rescue.
