(Clarinda) A Clarinda Academy student has been returned to the facility after leaving campus early Tuesday morning and wrecking a stolen pickup.
Clarinda Police responded to Casey’s General Store at 318 E. Washington after a 2017 Dodge Ram ran into the front of the building and caused major structural damage. The driver is described as a 15-year-old white male from Michigan. The accident was determined to be intentional. The pickup was stolen from a driveway at 216 W. Walnut Street. It is owned by 40-year-old Scott Phillips, of Clarinda.
It was shortly after 1:30 a.m. when Clarinda Academy reported the student left campus without authorization. Reports have been forwarded to Page County Juvenile Court and the Page County Attorney for review concerning the filing of petitions alleging juvenile delinquency.
