Council Bluffs man killed in a motorcycle accident in Mills County

(Mills Co.) A Council Bluffs man was killed in a motorcycle accident in Mills County Friday morning.

The Iowa State Patrol says 58-year-old Larry Garretson was operating a 1978 KMCU KZ100 northbound on 221st Street north of Glenwood when for unknown reasons he left the roadway and entered the east ditch. The motorcycle struck a fallen tree and a road sign, causing Garretson to be thrown into the ditch.

Garretson was transported to the Loess Hills Funeral Home by the Douglas County Medical Examiner. The accident investigation is ongoing.

The Iowa State Patrol was assisted by Glenwood Fire and Rescue.
