(Red Oak) The Montgomery County Auditor’s Office on Monday received a petition calling for a Special Election to fill the District One seat on the Montgomery County Board of Supervisors.
The Supervisor Appointing Committee, consisting of the County Auditor, Recorder, and Treasurer, appointed Charla Schmid on October 21. Schmid was sworn in on October 27.
Montgomery County citizens may request a special election by filing a petition containing 80-signatures of eligible electors within 14 days after the publication of the notice or within 14 days after the appointment is made.
More information, including the election date, candidate filing the requirement, and deadlines, will be announced at a later date.
