(Fort Dodge) Craig Alan Becker raced to a 7th place finish in the Class 3A Boys Race at the State Cross Country Meet on Friday afternoon. The Atlantic senior clocked a time of 16:27 to become just the third Atlantic boys runner to ever post a top ten finish at the state meet. Previous top performances for Atlantic included Dennis Lengishon 9th in 2009 and Phoenix Shadden ran 10th in 2016
ADM’s Nate Mueller was the individual champion in a time of 15:28. Harlan’s Trey Gross also had a strong performance in Fort Dodge. The Cyclone senior placed 11th, giving him his second straight all-state finish after he was 7th as a junior. Glenwood freshman Andrew Smith placed 19th. Atlantic had Zane Berg place 46th. Berg’s time was 17:19.
Dallas Center-Grimes won the Class 3A team championship with 87 points. ADM was 9th with 218 points and Glenwood placed 15th with a team score of 287.
Lewis Central freshman Ethan Eichhorn ran 16th in Class 4A.
