(Atlantic) Students are rallying around fellow Atlantic High School student Steele McLaren today. The AHS senior suffered a serious head injury in an accident on Sunday afternoon.
The community is showing an outpouring of support for Steele who is hospitalized at UNMC in Omaha. Students are coming together for Steele today by wearing flannel shirts as part of a “dress like Steele day.”
A benefit account for the family has been set up at Rolling Hills Bank and Trust. Checks are to be made payable to Dustin and Ricci McLaren, or Cory and Jessica Ellis.
Atlantic High School Principal Heather McKay says supporters are in place at the school for anyone that needs it. School counselors Alyssa Dovenspike and Sarah Rose are joined by Green Hills AEA school psychologists Brooke Lamp and Lauren Bennewitz. Students may utilize their resources at any time.
