(Audubon) Girls teams advancing to state from Audubon are AHSTW and Logan-Magnolia. Boys teams moving on are Madrid and Ogden. Immediate coverage area individuals advancing not with a full team are Ben Schroder (Riverside) and Grace Slater (Audubon). It’s Schroder’s first time making it to state and Slater’s third year in a row.
The AHSTW girls put all five scoring runners in the top 17. Seniors Julia Kock and Chloe Falkena finished 2nd and 3rd, respectively. The tandem has qualified for state in all four years of their career. Jade Daman ran 11th, Kailey Jones was 16th, and Holly Hoepner was 17th. The Lady Vikes placed 3rd at last year’s state meet and will take some firepower back to Fort Dodge. Jordan Blotzer ran 36th and Claire Denning 56th.
The Madrid boys had four of the top five finishers along with the 11th and 12th place runners. Jason Renze took the individual title one second ahead of teammate Clay Pehl.
