(Anita) Republican Bernard Pettinger defeated Linda Rieneke in the Republican Primary this past June for the District 5 Supervisor Seat. Pettinger now faces Democratic Party ticket candidate Russell Joyce.
Pettinger is no stranger to filling leadership roles. The rural Anita man served on the Hospital Board, served as Secretary of the Co-op Board, is a former school board president, former fair board president, and has served on the Extension Council.
Pettinger is running on a fiscal responsibility platform and, if elected, intends to re-introduce a technique used years ago to firm up the soft spot issue on gravel roads during the spring thaw.
Pettinger, if elected, sees his role as; listens to the people first before making a decision.
Early voting is underway. The general election is November 3.
