(Denison) Glenwood earned a girls Hawkeye Ten Conference Cross Country championship on Thursday. The Rams had six runners in the top 20 at the conference meet in Denison led by individual runner-up Emma Hughes.
Braelyn Baker, of Creston, won the individual competition in a time of 19:51. She was four seconds faster than Glenwood’s Emma Hughes.
Harlan finished second in th team count. Their total of 57 points was 15 behind the Rams. Kaia Bieker and Brecken VanBaale paced the the Cyclones with top ten individual finishes. Bieker ran 5th and VanBaale was 6th. Abi Albertsen placed 13th, Olivia Anderson 21st, Ellie Gross 22nd, Liv Freund 24th, and Kennedy Kjergaard 27th.
Atlantic was 3rd with 75 points. Taylor McCreedy raced to a 3rd place finish. She was nine seconds behind the leader Baker. Ava Rush placed 14th for the Trojans. Additional Atlantic runners were Claire Pellett 16th, Maddie Botos 26th, Addie DeArment 28th, Faith Altman 40th, and Gwen Irlmeier 43rd.
