(Area) State Qualifying for Cross Country will take place next week. The Iowa High School Athletic Association and Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union released site assignments on Wednesday afternoon.
Audubon, ACGC, and Mount Ayr are host sites in Class 1A. Teams at Audubon will be AHSTW, Audubon, Boyer Valley, East Mills, Fremont-Mills, Heartland Christian, Iowa School for the Deaf, Logan-Magnolia, Madrid, MVAOCOU, Ogden, Riverside, St. Albert, West Harrison, West Monona, Westwood, Whiting and Woodbine. Teams at ACGC will be ACGC, Ankeny Christian, Baxter, CAM, Colfax-Mingo, Collins-Maxwell, Colo-Nesco, Coon Rapids-Bayard, East Marshall, Exira-EHK, Grand View Christian, Griswold, IKM-Manning, Lynnville-Sully, Montezuma, Pleasantville, Tri-Center, and Woodward-Granger. At Mount Ayr will be Bedford, Clarinda Academy, Diagonal, Earlham, East Union, Essex, Interstate-35, Lenox, Martensdale-St. Marys, Melcher-Dallas, Mount Ayr, Nodaway Valley, Orient-Macksburg, Sidney, SE Warren, SW Valley, Van Meter, and Wayne.
The majority of are teams in Class 2A are headed to Panorama. The field includes Albia, Centerville, Central Decatur, Chariton, Clarinda, Davis County, Missouri Valley, Panorama, Red Oak, Roland-Story, Shenandoah, Treynor, Underwood, West Central Valley, and Woodward-Granger.
Winterset is the destination for most 3A schools in Southwest Iowa. Winterset will host ADM, Atlantic, Boone, Clarke, Creston, Dallas Center-Grimes, Gilbert, Glenwood, Greene County, Kuemper Catholic/Carroll, Perry, and Saydel. Harlan goes north to Spencer along with Algona, Bishop Heelan, Boyden-Hull/Rock Valley, Denison-Schleswig, Humboldt, Lemars, MOC-Floyd Valley, North Polk, Sergeant Bluff-Luton, Sioux Center, Spencer, and Storm Lake.
In Class 4A Abraham Lincoln is the host in a field consisting of Ankeny Centennial, Indianola, Johnston, Lewis Central, SC East, SC North, SC West, and Thomas Jefferson.
