(Avoca) Blake Holst is in his 2nd year as the starting quarterback at AHSTW. The Viking signal caller will be a guest during our In the Huddle show Friday night leading up to the broadcast of AHSTW at Riverside on KSOM.
Holst is excited to get back to the field after the team has missed three consecutive games. With some of their players unavailable due to contact tracing they were forced to cancel their Week 5 contest with St. Albert late in the week and subsequently missed their Week 6 date with Riverside. The Vikings were on track to return last Friday night against Tri-Center, but eventually found out that the Trojans had to cancel.
Holst has guided AHSTW to a 2-2 record. Their wins have been against Sidney and Missouri Valley. They have losses against Shenandoah and SW Valley. Holst has completed 53.1% of his throws for 710 yards with 8 TD’s and 4 interceptions. He’s carried 45 times for 267 yards and a team best 6 touchdowns.
