(Atlantic) The Cass County Pork Producers honored the first baby born during October, which is National Pork Month. The Pork producers presented a basket to the newly born infant with a bib, diapers, $20 in pork gift certificates, and a bacon-shaped teether. The lucky baby is Wade Alan Zellmer, born on October 3, 2020, to parents Maddi and Gage.
Denae Buffington, President of the Cass County Pork Producers, the group, is forming again, and they want to get their name out and raise money for scholarships and anything they can.
Besides, the first baby born in October, the Cass County Pork Producers, is giving away some other gifts to the youth of the community.
The Pork Producers are also raffling off a half a hog. Those interested in purchasing a raffle ticket can contact Denae, her husband, Brandon, and Duane and Karen Dreager, or contact them through the Cass County Pork Producers Facebook page. The drawing is on October 31. The money raised from the raffle will go towards scholarships.
