(Boone) The much awaited postseason football pods have been released by the Iowa High School Athletic Association. Playoff action gets started on Friday, October 16th for teams that don’t have a first round bye. The complete overview from the IHSAA is available here. Details for immediate coverage area teams are listed below:
ACGC
ACGC travels to Pleasantville in round one. Van Meter is in the same pod and has a first round bye.
AHSTW
AHSTW’s first game in a month will be at Riverside. The other Pod #15 pairing is Tri-Center at Lawton-Bronson.
Atlantic
As a district champ the Trojans earned a first round bye. The other teams in their pod are DM Christian and Albia.
Audubon
The Wheelers are in Pod #14 and host Bedford. The other game in the pod is East Mills at Lenox.
CAM
The Cougars will open at home against Griswold. The winner plays either Stanton/Essex or Murray.
Exira-EHK
Exira-EHK travels to Fremont-Mills for the postseason opener. The other two teams in the group are Glidden-Ralston and Woodbine.
Griswold
Griswold goes to CAM for a rematch of a Week 1 contest. Stanton/Essex travels to Murray in the other matchup.
Harlan
The Cyclones gained a first round bye in Pod #15. The first round contest in that grouping is ADM at Bondurant-Farrar.
Nodaway Valley
Nodaway Valley hits the road in the first round at North Mahaska. The other Pod #13 game is Wayne at Earlham.
Riverside
A local matchup that didn’t get to take place in the regular season will be lined up for the postseason against AHSTW. The Bulldogs are at home in the first round. The other matchup is Tri-Center at Lawton-Bronson.
