(Harrison Co.) Two people were injured in a three-vehicle accident in Harrison County this (Friday) morning.
The Iowa State Patrol says 26-year-old Brett Marcum, of Logan, was transported to UNMC by Life Flight. 59-year-old Richard Fuhs, of Harlan, was transported to the Missouri Valley Hospital by Missouri Valley EMS.
According to the report, Richard Fuhs was driving a 2003 Freightliner semi eastbound on Highway 30 and swerved to avoid a vehicle that was slowing down to make a left turn on 280th Street. The semi crossed the center line of Highway 30 and hit a 2012 Dodge Ram head-on. The Dodge Ram was driven by Brett Marcum. 36-year-old Jonathan Moe, of Logan, was driving a 2012 Dodge Ram 1500 westbound and was unable to stop in time and ran into the back of Marcum’s vehicle. This caused Marcum’s vehicle to enter the ditch on the north side of Highway 30. Moe’s vehicle then ran into the semi where it came to stop in the westbound lanes of Highway 30.
The accident remains under investigation.
