(State) Regional brackets have been released from the Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union for volleyball. The pairings were announced Thursday evening in Classes 1A, 2A, and 3A while the Class 4A and 5A postseason details will be posted on Friday.
Audubon, Riverside, and Exira-EHK are all in Class 1A Region 2. Audubon travels to Coon Rapids-Bayard in the first round while Riverside hosts Exira-EHK. The winners will meet up October 21st in Coon Rapids.
CAM and Griswold are both in Class 1A Region 4 and will play each other in the first round. The winner will oppose either Stanton or Essex in Stanton in the regional quarterfinal round.
AHSTW and Nodaway Valley are both in Class 2A Region 3 and each will have a first round bye. Nodaway Valley opens on October 21st at home against Mount Ayr and AHSTW will travel to Treynor. ACGC draws Earlham in the first round of Class 2A Region 4 play. A win would put the Chargers in to the regional semi’s against either top seed East Sac County, IKM-Manning, or Ogden.
Atlantic falls in Class 3A Region 4 and will host Clarinda. The winner travels to Red Oak to face either Red Oak or Shenandoah.
