(Leon) Riverside took an anybody, any place, any time mentality into their Week 6 football contest against Davis County. The Bulldogs were motivated to fill their schedule with anyone they could find and when it was all said and done they waltzed away with a quality “W” over a Class 2A opponent, 35-14.
The Bulldogs, playing at Central Decatur High School, pulled away in the second half by outscoring Davis County 14-0 in the third and fourth quarters. Austin Kremkoski was effective with his legs and his arm. The junior QB passed for 129 yards and three scores on 8/14 completions. He ran 12 times for 74 yards and two TD’s.
Rhett Bentley posted another strong night rushing. His 16 attempts covered 125 yards. Bentley also went for 60 yards and a score on his four receptions. Caden Manzer carried twice for 44 yards. Drake Woods and Brogan Allensworth each hauled in TD passes.
Manzer racked up eight tackles while Eddie Vlcek and Nathan Messerschmidt each had seven. JJ Wilson recovered a fumble and Austin Kremkoski intercepted a pass.
Riverside has won three straight and takes a 5-1 record into next week’s big game with SW Valley. The Timberwolves won big against Sidney in Week 6 to improve to 6-1. Each team’s only loss was to St. Albert. We’ll have the SW Valley at Riverside matchup on KSOM next Friday night.
