(Atlantic) The Cass County Board of Supervisors will take action on a resolution to put in a stop sign or signs at the intersection of 595th Street and Lansing Road at their meeting this morning.
The item was placed on the agenda after Jon Schwanke asked the Board to consider placing a stop sign or signs at the junction which is a ‘blind’ intersection at the top of a hill. This has become a dangerous corner with increased traffic with the opening of the rock quarry.
The Supervisors will also discuss the closing of county roadway at 570th Street, the I-80 underpass). The Iowa DOT plans to make I-80 a six-lane highway and would like to close some underpasses, including the one at 570th Street. The State has proposed an incentive for closure of about 1.5 million dollars.
The meeting begins at 9:00 a.m.
