(Elk Horn) The Exira-EHK School Board approved some personnel moves at their meeting this week.
Recent retiree Lisa Dreyer is coming back on a 60% basis as a TAG Teacher and JoAnne Morenz will receive a stipend for her role as Elementary Principal Assistant. “Lisa took early retirement, but now she’s coming back October 1st to work with our K-12 TAG Students. She might do some coaching in the spring. She really wanted to get back and focus on TAG. We are happy to have her back. JoAnne Morenz is our Assistant Elementary Principal. Right now she’s helping out so she’s getting a stipend because her and Rochelle (Bruns) are teaming up and collaborating on a daily basis. She’s doing a good job. Her and Rochelle are really teaming up and doing good.”
Meanwhile, Superintendent Trevor Miller is glad to report the district is able to offer free breakfast and lunch through December or whenever the funding runs out. “That’s good for all of our students and parents. For all the expenses they have and with a lot of people being furloughed or laid off. Not having to pay for lunch until the end of September is a good benefit that the federal government is giving out for our state and our schools so that’s a positive.”
Several routine items were tackled including the approval of attorneys, banking institutions, and the official newspaper. Meetings will continue to be held on the third Monday at 6:00 p.m. in Elk Horn.
