(Griswold) The Griswold Tigers are hungry for a win and they feel they are capable of getting one this Friday night. We’ll have their game with East Union on KSOM.
Chase Wallace, head coach at Griswold, acknowledges this is a game his team really wants to get. “Myself, the whole team, the whole staff, the whole community for that matter are ready for a win. We are focused and really think we can get this one this week. East Union is just as hungry as we are just as hungry and we have to match their energy. ”
The Tigers last celebrated a victory during their 2018 homecoming game when they beat Essex 90-54 in a Week 7 contest. Homecoming 2020 sounds like a perfect time to end the drought. “I’m not going to lie. I feel a little added pressure this week just because of how much we want a win and need a win. With Homecoming added to that I know there’s going to be hopefully a big crowd on hand. I’m just doing the best I can to get these guys prepared for Friday.”
Preparation has gone really well. “Yesterday’s practice was probably one of the best we’ve had all season energy wise. The guys were working hard and the focus was right where we want it to be going into this matchup. I’m really enthused and impressed with what the guys have done this week.”
Coach Wallace says East Union shows good offensive balance out of the spread which makes them a tough matchup. “They have some good size at the skill positions which can give you fits with their speed and height. We have to be ready for that and whatever they throw at us. Like their coach said we are both in a similar position wanting a win.”
East Union comes into the game at 0-3. The Eagles were idle last week after finding out last Friday morning that Fremont-Mills would be unable to play.
