Jeffrey James McEvoy, son of Harold J. and Delores (Swanson) McEvoy, was born February 12, 1962, in Council Bluffs, Iowa. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Mark’s Methodist Church in Council Bluffs.
Jeffrey (Jeff) graduated from Abraham Lincoln High School in 1980. After graduation he worked at the United States Checkbook Co. until 1988. Following his love for music, Jeff started and operated his own DJ service, All That Music Mobile DJ Service, from 1981 until 2007. Jeff and Randi enjoyed operating the DJ service together the last of those seven years. During that time Jeff also created and ran Litho-Ray, Inc. until he started at Mahle Engine Components USA, formerly known as Dana Corporation, in 1992.
During his 28 years at Mahle, Jeff completed the Tool and Die Journeyman program on May 11, 2000 and held the title of Government Certified Tool and Die Journeyman. He continued his education and earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Warren National University in 2008.
Jeff and Randi were married April 5, 2003 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Harlan, Iowa. Together, they enjoyed their blended family of six children and seven grandchildren. Jeff enjoyed many activities and hobbies like camping, fishing, watching movies, playing the guitar or doing woodworking and designing fixtures with steel. He was an avid coin collector and a huge Star Trek fan. Jeff’s most treasured moments were shared with family. He loved going dancing with Randi, attending his grandkids’ events and family get-togethers; he especially enjoyed his yearly “Papa J’s Birthday Bowling Bash”. Jeff was a very humble man but would brag about his children and grandchildren every chance he could get.
