Boyd Ray Lutz was born on October 22, 1965 in Long Beach, California to Robert and Winona (Hohensee) Lutz. He passed away at his home in Adair on August 16, 2020.
In his younger days, he played on a baseball team coached by Bob and was a cub scout where Nona was his den mother. In Long Beach, he attended Hamilton Junior High and David Starr Jordan High School.
Ray moved to Adair with his parents and sisters in 1983. He graduated with the Adair-Casey Class of 1984. His hobbies throughout his life were bowling, photography, computers and seeing what made things tick.
Ray was a son, “big” brother, uncle, coworker, and friend. He did not say a whole lot at times, but he could be sneaky and had been known to pull a prank now and then. He took very good care of everyone in his own way, whatever the need. However, when it came to UNO, you were on your own.
Ray will be missed greatly by his mother Nona Lutz of Adair, sisters Teresa (Dennis) Marckmann of Stuart, Tina Escoto of Stuart, Trina Settlemoir of Redfield and Terri (Greg) Simmons of Dallas Center. He will also be missed by seven nieces and nephews and widespread Lutz and Hohensee aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father Robert Lutz, his grandparents, and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
In lieu of floral tributes, memorial contributions may be directed to Cottage Pantry (PO Box 452, Stuart IA 50250) or The Boys and Girls club in Adair (807 Broad St, Adair IA 50002) in Ray’s name.
